Tour Saint-Jacques at Sunset

Paris Karin and I got stood up at a concert last night (tickets that were to have been reserved weren’t) but, on the bright side, we had a nice ride in the metro wearing our most elegant evening wear and I came away with these shots. (Click on photos for large size.)

Gorgeous lighting – what can I say..! Never been the same since they cleaned the thing, but then again, I kinda miss that grimy gothic gloom… Never mind, there are still quite a few grimy churches left in Paris which probably won’t be cleaned for a while, starting with the backside of Sacré Coeur, for example!

    • Hi Sab,

Thanks for the compliment on the lighting, I do what i can! lol I agree with you about the character of the grime; it did wonders for the gargoyles at Notre Dame.

Thanks for stopping by and see you in the streets,

  2. Bummer about the concert. The last time I was in Paris, this was under scaffolding. Thanks for sharing 🙂

    • Yes, it was too bad about the concert but we had fun anyway! The Tour was under wraps forever; it’s finally nice to see it’s “come clean”.

      See you in the streets!
